The holiday declared by the Government will not be extended, Joint Cabinet Spokesman Bandula Gunawardena said a short while ago.
Mr Gunawardena told journalists at a media briefing that the Government will review the situation at the end of the week and decide on further holidays then.
The Government announced a public, bank and mercantile holiday for today (16) as part of preventive measures to minimise the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus).
There are now 21 confirmed COVID-19 in the country.
