Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has said that debt amounting up to USD 2600 million, the largest ever amount to be paid as debt within a year, will be repaid next Monday.
He made this remark while delivering a special address in Parliament today (Jan 10).
Mr. Wickremesinghe said that the stabilisation of the rupee was the utmost priority of the government.
The Premier added that the government would put forward a people friendly budget depite being faced with various hardships.
