A group of 160 persons left for Korea for employment from the Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA) last night (26), becoming the first group to leave again for employment overseas after the practice was suspended owing to the spread of COVID-19.
The group left MRIA on a flight to Seoul on a flight belonging to Myanmar Airways International, which was also the first such flight to take off from MRIA.
Those who left for Korea last night had all returned to the country prior to March 10 on leave from their respective workplaces. They will also have to undergo a mandatory 14-day quarantine period once they land in Seoul.
