Health Ministry issues gazette to increase prices of 60 pharmaceutical drugs
A gazette notification has been issued by Health Minister Rajitha Senaratne increasing the prices of 60 essential drugs on which a Maximum Retail Price (MRP) was imposed in 2016.
According to the gazette, the latest prices of certain essential drugs including Albendazole, Amoxicillin, Paracetamol will be considered as the ceiling price since May 11.
Some of the essential drugs of which prices have been increased are as follows:
- Albendazole (400mg) - Rs 35.04
- Amoxicillin + Clauvalanic Acid (Oral Suspension) - Rs 345.35
- Clarithromycin (Oral Suspension) - Rs 523.72
- Asprin (75mg) - Rs 3.60
- Asprin (100mg) - Rs 6.37
- Bleclomethasone (100mcg) Inhaler - Rs 609.61
- Insulin Soluble Human 9Injection) - Rs 1372.80
