President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed Easter Governor MLAM Hizbullah as a Co-Chairman of the District Coordinating Committees in the Trincomalee, Batticaloa, and Ampara districts.
It is reported that the appointment had been made in a bid to study and expedite the development process taking place in the Eastern part of the country.
Following today's appointment, it was decided to conduct the Trincomalee District Coordinating Committee meeting on June 10 at the Trincomalee District Secretariat Office .
Ports and Shipping Deputy Minister M.A.M. Maharoof and Parliamentarian R. Sampanthan were serving as Co-Chairmans of the Trincomalee District Coordinating Committee previously.
