With a police curfew set to take effect throughout the Puttalam district from 4.30pm today, residents of many towns in the district were seen flocking to shops and supermarkets in a rush to stock up on essential items before the curfew came into effect.
Authorities imposed a police curfew in the district from 4.30pm until further notice in a bid to prevent the spread of COVID-19.
