A total of 18 police divisions in the Puttalam district have been under a police curfew since 4.30pm yesterday (18) to minimise the spread of COVID-19. Though the curfew was briefly lifted at 8.00am to facilitate the final day of nomination process for the 2020 Parliamentary Election, it was reimposed again from 2.00pm today until further notice.
Pictures show Anamaduwa and Saliyawewa towns after curfew was imposed last evening. Some people who were returning home from work found it hard to find buses to get home due to the imposition of the sudden curfew, while police set up roadblocks on the road to check vehicles.
