The Indian Coast Guard has increased its monitoring efforts in the Indo-Sri Lankan territorial waters, to prevent members of an extremist groups from entering the country, Indian media reports.
Further, the Indian Coast Guard has expressed willingness to assist the Sri Lanka Coast Guard Unit in order to carry out inspections in the country's airspace by providing the necessary equipment.
The Navy has also increased the number of maritime operations while also engaging in 24-hour patrols and inspection checks, Navy Spokesman Lieutenant Commander Isuru Sooriyabandara said.
