The Japanese government has agreed to provide one of its ships for coast protection training activities of Sri Lankan navy officials.
This was announced during a meeting that was held between Kentaro Sonoura - the national security advisor to the Japanese Prime Minister, and President Maithripala Sirisena.
The meeting had taken place at the President's official residence in Colombo.
Mr. Sonoura had said that the Japanese government would extend its fullest support to Sri Lanka on coast and marine protection activities.
