An individual has died after being attacked using a sharp weapon during a brawl between two persons in Piliyandala yesterday (May 15), Police said.
According to the Police, an argument between two persons had escalated into a fight before the victim was attacked using a sharp weapon in the Madapana area in Piliyandala.
The victim, a 40-year old resident of Madapana, had died shortly after admission to the the Piliyandala hospital, Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the two individuals were workers at a fertiliser storage facility in the area.
The suspect has fled the area following the incident, police said adding that a search is currently underway to locate the suspect.
