A 27-year-old individual sustained gunshot injuries after being shot by unidentified gunmen at Pilana, in Habaraduwa, Galle last night (9). Police said officers at the Habaraduwa Police responded to a call made to the 119 emergency hotline at about 7.40pm that an injured individual was lying along a spot along the Akuressa Road in Pilana.
The injured was admitted to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital and the doctor who examined the individual had confirmed that the victim had been shot.
The victim has been identified as a resident of Thenkallagoda, Galle. Habaraduwa Police are investigating.
