Matale Mayor Aluvihare removed

Matale Mayor Daljith Aluvihare has been removed from his post by Central Province Governor Lalith U. Gamage.

The relevant gazette notification was issued by the Provincial Governor yesterday (2).

Matale Mayor Daljith Aluvihare has been suspended due to various allegations leveled against him.

The governor appointed a committee to look into the allegations, and taking in to account the committee report, the mayor was removed from his post.
