Security forces are currently involved in the monitoring of unauthorized and haphazard disposal of garbage, informing relevant authorities and observing the proper collection of garbage, Military Spokesman and Army Media Director, Brigadier Roshan Seneviratne said.
Denying reports that security forces (Army) personnel are involved in garbage removal activities, Brigadier Seneviratne said that forces are involved in observing locations where garbage has been improperly disposed and inform relevant (municipal/ local council) authorities.
He said forces also assist the Police to arrest persons involved in illegal and improper disposal of garbage in addition to monitoring the garbage collection and removal process activities.
