President Maithripala Sirisena appointed Jayantha Wijerathna, a senior officer of the Sri Lanka Administrative Service as Secretary of the Ministry of City Planning & Water Supply, President Media Unit said.
He received his letter of appointment from President Sirisena at Presidential Secretariat, yesterday. He was the Commissioner of North Western Provincial Council Secretary before his appointment as Secretary of the Ministry of City Planning & Water Supply.
The final rites of veteran broadcaster, writer, and lyricist Nirmala de Alwis will be held today at Peradeniya.
