A new Chairman has been appointed to the national carrier, SriLankan Airlines, making this the second such appointment in 24 hours as chaos prevailed in the country amidst a political and constitutional crisis.
The Finance Ministry issuing a media release on Wednesday said that the Transport and Civil Aviation Ministry Secretary G.S. Vithanage has been appointed as the Chairman of the SriLankan Airlines by the Secretary to the Treasury S.R. Attygalle.
On Tuesday, Kapila Chandrasena, a former CEO of the national carrier, was appointed to the post of Chairman of the national carrier. (SD)
