A 38-year old man was arrested in Periyamulla yesterday (Jan 04) for setting fire to a dog in Meegamuwa on December 31, 2018.
The dog, a Labrador, named Charlie suffered a brutal death after being set on fire inside its kennel on New Year’s Eve.
The suspect was arrested at around 4 pm by the Meegamuwa Police and is expected to be produced before the Meegamuwa Magistrates Court today.
He has been identified as a resident of Periyamulla, Meegamuwa.
Further investigations on the incident continue.
