One suspect was arrested by Special Task Force personnel for running a centre which prepared counterfeit documents, in Ja-Ela yesterday (Mar 17).
More than 50 rubber stamps including those of state bodies were seized along with several fake documents at the time of the arrest.
Meanwhile, police believe that this centre had prepared a fake insurance card, license and forged number plates which were found in a Wagon R vehicle on March 15 in Weligampitiya, Ja-ela.
Accordingly, measures have been taken to handover the suspect to the Police Organised Crimes Preventive Division for further investigations.
