Parliament temporarily suspended over Vijayakala's statement

Parliament sittings were briefly suspended a short while ago due to heated arguments between government and opposition MPs over the controversial statement made by State Minister Vijayakala Maheswaran. 

In her controversial remarks yesterday at a function in Jaffna, State Minister Vijayakala Maheswaran stated that if the people of the North and East were to live freely, there was a need for the return of the LTTE.
