The Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) will implement a special operation from next week onwards to detect narcotics being smuggled into the country via the Central Mail Exchange.
“The PNB has detected several narcotics being smuggled into the country via air mail,” a high ranking PNB source told Times Online.
These narcotics are being smuggled along with products that have been ordered on e-commerce platforms such as eBay, the source added.
Times Online learns that several narcotics such as heroin and narcotic tablets have been seized from such air mail packages.
Accordingly, the PNB has decided to obtain the assistance of the Police Kennels Division to detect these narcotics which have been brought into the country.
Parcels will be inspected throughout the day, the PNB source said.
