A special operation is currently underway to apprehend bus drivers who use their horns excessively and unnecessarily illuminate their vehicles while placing additional horns in their vehicles, Traffic DIG Ajith Rohana said.
He noted that steps have been taken to arrest drivers of smaller vehicles as well who operate in a similar manner.
"The owner and the driver of the vehicle must both be held responsible for any extra accessories which are mounted onto vehicles," DIG Rohana stressed.
These operations are being carried out in several areas across the country.
