President Maithripala Sirisena will grant promotions to 38 armed forces personnel in keeping with the National War Heroes Day on May 19.
The promotions will be granted on the recommendations of the Defence Ministry and the Army Commander.
Two Colonel's attached to the Volunteer Force will be promoted as Brigadiers with effect from March 21 and April 23 respectively.
Meanwhile seven Lieutenant Colonel's of the Volunteer Force will be promoted to the position of Brigadier with effect from March 21.
A total of 29 Lieutenant Colonel's in the Regular Force will be promoted to the post of Colonels with effect from March 27.
