Probe into vibration at Bambalapitiya
Geological Survey and Mines Bureau (GS&MB) officers are investigating the vibration at Bambalapitiya on Wednesday evening, local media reported. People in several houses at Bambalapitiya had felt the vibration around 4.00 p.m. on Wednesday. GS&MB Deputy Director C.H.E.R. Siriwardena was quoted as saying minor vibration was reported from Bambalapitiya. He said investigators suspect that construction activities in the area may have caused the vibration. He said many construction activities are taking place in Bampalapitiya and piling carried out at a construction site may have triggered the vibration. Siriwardena said GS&MB officers are continuing the investigation to ascertain the cause of the vibration.
