Railway unions to launch strike on August 29
Railway trade unions have decided to launch an indefinite island-wide strike from midnight on Wednesday (29), stating that the government had failed to give solutions to their salary issue.
The decision followed a meeting union representatives held with President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday. However, the meeting ended with no agreement, prompting trade unions to today to decide on trade union action.
