Rajaratnam appointed as Acting Solicitor General to replace Dilrukshi
Senior Additional Solicitor General Sanjay Rajaratnam has been appointed as Acting Solicitor General to replace Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe who was interdicted last month, the Attorney General (AG)'s Department said.
The appointment had been made by the Public Services Commission with immediate effect, the AG's Coordinating Secretary State Counsel Nishara Jayaratne said.
Solicitor General Dilrukshi Dias Wickramasinghe was interdicted after a leaked telephone call between her and Avant-Garde Chairman Nissanka Senadhipathi sparked controversy last month.
In the recording, the Solicitor General had regretted taking legal action against a floating armoury owned by Mr. Sendhipathi's company - a case that had been dismissed recently by the Colombo Chief Magistrate's Court.
