News

The remains of the bomber who attacked the Zion Church in Batticaloa have been exhumed from the Kalliyakandu cemetery today (Aug 2), Police Spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.

Area residents had protested against the burial of the bomber's remains at the Kalliyakandu cemetery which had been carried out upon court orders.

However, the court had ordered the exhumation of the remains after Batticaloa District Secretary M. Udayakumar submitted a motion to the court explaining the situation in the area.
