The Acting Police Chief has announced that a reward of Rs 5 million would be awarded to the informant who provided two tip-offs on the storage of explosives in Sammanthurai recently.
The informant, a lorry driver in Nittambuwa, had provided the tip-offs on April 26 in the aftermath of the Easter Sunday attacks, when security personnel were investigating into the suspects linked to the bombings.
Recently, the informant had told the press that he was not given due credit for providing information on the storage of these explosives.
Accordingly, Acting Inspector General of Police (IGP) C.D. Wickramaratne had announced that Rs 2.5 million would be granted for each of the two tip-offs he had given to the security forces.
