Second suspect arrested for hacking President's website
A 27-year-old individual from Moratuwa has been taken into custody by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in connection with the hacking of President Maithripala Sirisena's official website. He is the second suspect to be arrested in connection with the incident. CID detectives yesterday arrested a 17-year-old schoolboy from Kadugannawa for alleged involvement in the hacking.
The website www.president.gov.lk was taken offline by hacking attacks over two consecutive days last week. The first attack took place on Thursday (24) while a second attack occured on Friday (25).
