Senior police officers instructed to utilise powers within legal framework to curb violence
The Police Headquarters has issued instructions to senior police officials to utilise their powers to the maximum extent within the legal framework to prevent incidents of violence.
A series of violent incidents erupted in the country over the last 24 hours resulting in the need to impose an island-wide curfew.
The curfew is expected to be lifted at 4 am tomorrow (May 14).
