Several Assistant Suprindent of Police (ASP) s have been transferred on the service requirement on the recommendation of Inspector General of Police (IGP) and under the approval of National Police Commission, Police Headquarters said today.
The transfers of ASPs as follows in respective of their new assigned offices:
ASP A.R.P.J. de Alwis - From Tangalle Division to Colombo Crime Division
ASP M.A.A.S. Jayathilake - From Colombo Crime Division to Tangalle Division
ASP P.T. Sisira - From Batticoloa Division to Galle Division
ASP S.R.H. Gamage - From Galle Division to Batticoloa Division
ASP P.G.R.C.A. Gamlath – From Polonnaruwa Division to Matara Division

Public Security Minister Ananda Wijepala told Parliament today that the suspect in the rape of a lady doctor at the Anuradhapura teaching hospital has been identified as an army deserter and he will be apprehended shortly.
