The Colombo Magistrates Court has announced a further hearing on the case filed against the wife of MP Wimal Weerawansa which is set to take place on April 04.
This was announced when the case against Shashi Weerawansa was taken up before Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne today.
Ms. Weerawansa has been accused of submitting forged documents to the Immigrations and Emigration department in order to obtain a diplomatic and a local passport.
The case was postponed until the said date since the State Counsel representing the prosecution was not present during today's court hearing.
Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) General Secretary Tilvin Silva had appeared before court today as a witness in the case. He was ordered to be present before court during the next hearing as well.
