Chief of the State Intelligence Service (SIS) Senior DIG Nilantha Jayawardena gave a four -hour long statement to the Parliamentary Select Committee (PSC) probing the Easter Sunday terror attack last night, Committee Chairperson, Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri said.
SDIG Jayawardana’s statement was recorded last night at an undisclosed location without the media being present.
Meanwhile, several senior officers of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and Terrorism Investigation Division (TID) gave evidence before the PSC yesterday in Parliament. These sessions were open to the media.
Accordingly, SDIG in charge of the CID and TID Ravi Seneviratne, CID Director SSP Shani Abeysekera, TID Director Waruna Jayasundara and Inspector T.R.K.R Pathirana of the TID gave evidence to the PSC yesterday in the presence of the media.
