The Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) has the capability of facing any election alone, parliamentarian Rajith de Soyza said yesterday (Mar 17).
He made this remark in response to a statement made by Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) MP Dayasiri Jayasekara on Saturday.
MP Jayasekara had claimed that the presidential candidate of the SLPP would fall short of 2.5 - 3 million votes alone if the SLFP does not form a coalition before the polls.
While disputing this statement, MP de Soyza remarked that the SLPP's presidential candidate would be announced within two weeks.
