Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has granted permission to search the office of the Parliament employee who was arrested in the ongoing probe into the Easter Sunday attacks.
The suspect is to be escorted to the Parliamentary complex today (May 21) by officials of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) in order to search his office and computer.
The employee, who had been attached to the Parliament's Hansard Department, was arrested last Saturday for alleged links to a training facility at a coconut estate in Kurunegala.
The CID had sought the permission of the Speaker in order to carry out the search, since the suspect's office was located within the premises of the Parliamentary complex.
