Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has said that Sri Lankans have created a brandname as the most generous society in the world due to its significant amount of donations concerning eyes, blood and other organs of the body.
Addressing a gathering today (Dec 18) as Chief Guest at the National Eye Donation Day ceremony organised by the National Eye Donation Society , the Speaker said that his own parents had donated their eyes.
Speaker Jayasuriya further added that he had established an organization under the name of his late daughter, inviting people to donate hair for those affected by cancer.
