A special discussion was held yesterday regarding the security situation in the country between several heads of former Security Forces and the Leader of the Opposition.
Former Defense Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, former Army Commanders Jagath Jayasuriya and Daya Ratnayake, former Navy Commander Wasantha Karannagoda, former Commander of the Air Force Roshan Gunathilaka and former IGP Mahinda Balasuriya were present at the meeting.
Later, Opposition Leader Mahinda Rajapakse speaking to media said that a program is being formulated to give priority to national security.
He said further that the reports prepared by the former security chiefs would be submitted to the President and the Prime Minister.
