The Government has decided to remove all taxes on imported face masks and hand sanitizers with effect from midnight today (18), the Finance Ministry announced.
A media release by the Ministry of Finance stated that the decision to remove the taxes was taken on the direction of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa in his capacity as Minister of Finance considering the high demand for these products due to the current spread of COVID-19 in the country.
