The three Russian Federation ships arrived at the Port of Trincomalee are scheduled to leave the island today.The guided missile cruiser ‘Variag’, a large anti-submarine ship ‘Admiral Panteleev’ and a medium ocean tanker "Pechenga" arrived at the Trincomalee Port on Nov 30.
According to the Sri Lanka Navy (SLN), the visiting ships have arrived for bunkering and ship’s crew rest, and therefore, replenishment work had been carried out while adhering to the healthcare guidelines issued to contain the spread of COVID-19.
The three ships are scheduled to leave the island today heading their next port of call, on completion of a Passage Exercise with the SLN Ship ‘Sayura’.
