Two individuals succumbed to injuries following two separate incidents of head-on collisions in Kalpitiya and Dambulla.
Police say that a motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries in a collission involving a lorry at Kalpititya yesterday night.
The deceased has been identified as a 34-year old man by the name of Sampath Nilantha. The post-mortem examination will be carried out at the Puttalam hospital today.
Meanwhile, a woman died following an accident involving a cab and a lorry in Dambulla at 8:30 pm yesterday.
The woman who was travelling in the van had succumbed to her injuries after being admitted at the Dambulla hospital. She has been identified as a 42-year old by the name of Noordeen Zameera.
The accident also left seven others including the driver of the cab injured.
