Two persons including an underworld figure have been stabbed in the vicinity of the Madampitiya cemetery today (Aug 15), police said.
According to the Police, four unidentified individuals who had arrived in a three-wheeler are believed to have carried out the stabbing at around 4 pm.
The deceased have been identified as Sampath Niroshan alias 'Anamalu Ranga' aged 32 and C.H. Imran aged 22. They are residents of Mattakuliya.
They had died upon admission to the Colombo General Hospital.
It is believed that the stabbing had taken place as a result of a clash between two underworld gangs.
