Two Sri Lankan passengers who were attempting to smuggle cigarettes were apprehended by Customs Officers at the Bandaranaike International Airport.
The passengers were aged 28 and 38 years and arrived from Abu Dhabi on flight UL 208.
They were apprehended for attempting to smuggle 287 cartons and 129 packets of cigarettes valued at Rs 3,598,800.
