The United National Party (UNP) has cautioned its local government members that they would face disciplinary action in the event they decide to support another party.
The party has sent out letters to the members citing the clauses of the party constitution in the event they decide to support another party.
The move was seen as a pre-emptive effort to prevent its members supporting the alliance led by Sajith Premadasa.
