Uva Chief Minister surrenders to police

Uva Province Chief Minister Chamara Sampath Dassanayake, who is accused of forcing a school principal to kneel before him, has surrendered to the Badulla Police this morning. 

He surrendered to police through a lawyer. 

The Chief Minister had earlier stepped down from his position as Provincial Education Minister following the uproar raised after the allegations came to light.
