The National Justice Collective has called upon the government to reject Resolution 60/21 before the UN Human Rights Council calling it an “existential threat” to the country’s Sovereignty, Constitution, judicial independence, national security and integrity of the Armed Forces.
In a letter to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, the National Joint Committee writing on behalf of the Collective state that compliance would irreversible compromise National unity, governance and the authority of elected representatives.

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa is due to vacate his official residence at Wijerama Mawatha, Colombo this morning, a Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) source said.
The Presidents’ Entitlements (Repeal) Bill was passed by a majority of 150 in parliament today. However the opposition MP’s were absent during the voting.
