A grand total of 12 Sri Lankan cricketers, including the white-ball skipper, Dasun Shanaka, have been selected by International League T20 competition to be played in the UAE in it's debut year.
The other prominent names amomgst are - Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Isuru Udana, Niroshan Dickwella, Chamika Karunaratne, Charith Asalanka, Lahiru Kumara, Dhananjaya De Silva, Traveen Mathew, Wanindu Hasaranga, Dinesh Chandimal and Matheesha Pathirana.
The six-team franchise tournament will be played from 13th January to 12th February with 34 matches to be played across three venues – Dubai International Stadium, Abu Dhabi International Cricket Stadium and Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
A Sri Lanka Air Force Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the No. 72 squadron has crashed into the Madhuru Oya reservoir this morning, Air FOrce Media Spokesman Eranda Geeganage said.
Update: Five of the twelve passengers on board the bell 212 aircraft that crashed into the Maduru Oya today, have succumbed to their injuries, the SLAF said.
