The official Trophy Tour in prelude to the ICC T20 World Cup 2026, which will be jointly hosted by India and Sri Lanka, was formally inaugurated at the Presidential Secretariat under the patronage of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

The event was attended by Sri Lanka Cricket President Shammi Silva, Sri Lanka T20 captain Dasun Shanaka, Head Coach Sanath Jayasuriya, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Sunil Gamage, Deputy Minister of Sports Sugath Tilakaratne, Director General of Sports, S. Achchudan, along with other officials of Sri Lanka Cricket and the Ministry of Sports.

The trophy will be displayed in several major cities across the island from January 21 to 24.

Over the period of four days, cricket fans will have the opportunity to witness the trophy up close including during the first One Day International match between Sri Lanka and England at the R. Premadasa International Stadium in Colombo on Thursday (22).

The trophy will travel across cities of Kandy, Dambulla and Jaffna, providing cricket enthusiasts in those regions as well with the opportunity to witness and capture pictures with the ICC T20 World Cup trophy.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held from February 7 to March 8 in Sri Lanka and India.

Sri Lanka will host the a total of 20 matches at the R. Premadasa International Stadium in Colombo, the Pallekele International Stadium and the SSC ground in Colombo, the three selected official venues.
