Sri Lankan opener - Pathum Nissanka - will be making his debut for franchise cricket by appearing for Rangpur Riders, in the next edition of the Bangladesh Premier League, set for January 06-February 16.
The 24-year-old top-order batter was only the second best batter for the Lankans in the recently-concluded T20 World Cup.
He accumulated 214, with a highest of 74, and is only behind teammate Kusal Mendis.
Overall, he finished impressively in no.7, in the top-10 run-scorers of the tournament.
Ranked 10th in the ICC T20 batters ranking, he has been a consistent performer for his side, representing the national team in 62 international matches (9 Test, 17 ODIs and 36 T20Is).
The 9th edition will consist of a total of 46 matches which will be played in Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet.
