Prima U15 Sri Lanka Youth League (SLYL) 2022 tournament’s provincial level 50 over match series commenced on 21st November with the participation of youth cricketers selected from district level and will be competing in five teams namely, Galle, Colombo North, Colombo South, Kandy and Dambulla in ten matches at Mercantile Cricket Association grounds and Nationalized Service Grounds, Ratmalana.
The final match of the tournament is scheduled to be take place on November 29. The players were selected by the SLC district and provincial coaches, under the supervision of the Junior National Selection Committee.
Prima Group Sri Lanka has been the official sponsor of Prima U15 SLYL tournament, which was formerly known as Prima Champions Cup, during the last 12 years, which had paved the way for thousands of young cricketers to represent their district and subsequently, their province. Many talented cricketers from past and present, who represent the national cricket team have had their beginnings at this tournament.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy General Manager, Ceylon Agro Industries, Prima – Group Sri Lanka, Sajith Gunaratne, stated: “It is with great pleasure that we announce Prima has once again joined hands with Sri Lanka Cricket in Prima Under-15 Sri Lanka Youth League 2022, the only junior cricket tournament endorsed by the governing body for cricket in Sri Lanka.”
