In a historical move taken by the current administration of Sri Lanka Football (SLF) to appoint high profile foreign coaches for the national teams, Andrew Morrison, a former player of Manchester City in the United Kingdom and Keith Stevens from Australia were appointed as Head Coach and Assistant Coach respectively.
Both coaches have arrived on Sunday (15 ) to the country in the evening and were received by Hiran Ratnayake, the Manager Sri Lanka Men’s national team and Asif Ansar, the Head of Competitions on behalf of SLF at Bandaranaike International Airport.
"Just looking to getting started. It's been a long flight, just need to get checked in and meet the players and the President of FSL and then start the ball rolling. We are really excited about the opportunity," Andrew Morrison said.
"We've done a lot of research and got a lot of footage to look over in the coming days, but we'll be prepared when the games come around. There have been a lot of planning and hard work from our end," he added.
Both Morrison and Stevens will observe a training session this morning before meeting President Jaswar Umar, the President of SLF.
