Following a complaint a Police,investigation has been launched over the assault of the rugby coach of St.Joseph’s College following their match against Kingswood College in Kandy yesterday.
The Josephians beat Kingswood College comfortably at Pallakalle by 48-15 points in the Dialog Schools Rugby League match.
Following the victory, the head coach of St.Joseph’s College rugby team Nilfer Ibrahim was verbally abused and then later assaulted by a group of Kingswood spectators.
It was reported that Nilfer Ibrahim is an old-boy of Kingswood College. Also he had sustained several injuries due to the assault.
Kingswood Rugby Union in a released said “We wish to inform you that the incident involving a parent and our esteemed Old Boy, Nilfer Ibrahim, is currently under investigation by the Kingswood Rugby Union and the school officials. It is essential to maintain the integrity of this process,
