Sri Lanka ‘A’ clinched a remarkable victory over Ireland ‘A’ after a dominant all-round performance in the tri-series final.
After putting Ireland A to bat first, Sri Lankan bowlers didn’t disappoint the fans, restricting Ireland "A’ to just 200 runs. Tharindu Rathnayake starred with the ball, taking 4 for 33, while Milan Rathnayake grabbed 3 for 24.
The chase started from a shaky start, with Sri Lanka ‘A’ struggling at 43 for 5. However, Pavan Rathnayake and Milan Rathnayake staged a stunning comeback, putting together an unbeaten 160-run stand for the sixth wicket. Both scored 77 runs, with Pavan facing 76 balls and Milan 83.
Milan’s brilliant all-round performance earned him the Player of the Final award.
